What’s Changing?

Starting at the beginning of September, we will discontinue support for importing layouts and boundaries using the PVFM file format exported by the Plugin.

  • We will deliver the new Plugin version 7.2.0

  • The Plugin will be available for terrain and PVSyst only with the commands:

    • GetSurface

    • TrackersToPvsyst

  • The following commands will be no longer be available in the Plugin:

    • GetLayout

    • GetBoundaries

  • Import to PVFARM will be not available for files by any Plugin version:

    • PVFM - for boundaries (by GetBoundaries)

    • PVFM - for Layout import (by GetLayout)

Why the Change?

We've made this decision after careful consideration of common challenges using the export commands as compared to the DXF workflow..

What’s the Alternative?

To enhance your workflows, we the DXF file format will be required for both layout and boundary imports.

The DXF format is more intuitive, ensures a smoother and more transparent workflow, and offers several benefits:

  1. Enhanced Compatibility: DXF files are compatible with a broad range of design and CAD software, making them easier to integrate into your existing workflows.

  2. Improved Accuracy: The precision of DXF files helps ensure that your layouts and boundaries are imported correctly, reducing the risk of errors.

  3. Clearer Work Process: With DXF, the import process becomes more straightforward, allowing you to focus on your design work without dealing with format-related issues.

  • Import to PVFARM will be available for the following files:

    • Boundaries as DXF

    • Roads as DXF

    • Layout as DXF

    • Surface as PVFM (by GetSurface in the Plugin)

Our support team is available to assist you in converting your files and answering any questions you might have during this transition.

We believe this transition will make your experience more comfortable and clear, helping you to focus on what really matters—designing a beautiful layout.

This update marks the beginning of our long-term plan to gradually phase out the Plugin. Our goal is to simplify and enhance your overall experience with PVFARM. By taking this initial step, we’re working towards creating a more streamlined and efficient environment for all our users.
